
About
Hamish Donaldson is a third-generation glass artist, carrying the tradition of glassblowing and engraving. Hamish applies technical colour overlay techniques with handblown forms to create vessels that serve as canvases for intricate surface design. his work bridges digital precision and hand drawn detail, culminating in deeply layered engraved glass vessels inspired by temple architecture and the mysteries of life.
Hamish began his career at his family’s studio, Gordon Studio Glassblowers, on Victorias Mornington peninsula. before elevating his training at the renowned JamFactory associate training program in Adelaide. Learning from some of the fields leading artists, including Martin Janecky at Pilchuck glass school in Seattle, as well as Australian masters Nick mount, Tom Moore, Liam Fleming and Scott Chaseling. Hamish now works out of and manages Gordon Studio Glassblowers.
Hamish's work has been recognised through finalist selections in the Rigg design prize: 35 under 35 at the NGV (2025), the FUSE Glass Prize Emerging Category (2020 and 2024), as well as the National Emerging Art Glass Prize at Wagga Wagga art gallery (2020 and 2025). Hamish also has work collected by the NGV and within the national glass collection at Wagga Wagga art gallery.

The Studio
Gordon studio glass blowers is a family owned and run glass blowing studio located in the beautiful hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. Set amongst the rolling hills between 2 bays the studio hosts an abundant glass gallery showcasing the three generations of glass art. Including a viewing platform that looks over the hot glass studio, inviting people to come and be mesmerised by the beautiful dance of glass blowing in action.
